Although difficult, Ben Spies Remain Optimistic

Ben Spies to assess the race at the Sachsenring circuit would be more difficult than in Assen and Mugello. However, Yamaha is still staring at the German GP this weekend with optimism. Yamaha had a capital good when the ninth series of the season was held. They won the last two races at Assen and Mugello, respectively by Spies and Jorge Lorenzo.

Effort to continue this positive trend is not going to be easy. However, Spies remains confident can achieve good results. "Sachsenring is not a good track for us last year. But, at the end of our race and we were actually able to finish strong. So, I'm pretty optimistic about it," said Spies told MCN.

"(Sachsenring) will be harder than Mugello and Assen. But, I think we can remain competitive," said the Superbike world championship 2009.

"We have to see how our bike worked there. We really have to fight, but we're ready for it," he said. Spies admitted Motorcycle Yamaha YZR-M1's not as tough as a dependable Honda RC212V. However, he believes his team will perform a number of improvements.

"Our motors have not been as tough as the other bike and we do not solve our problems. But, it will get better and we've got the motor current maximum capacity. Indeed, we need more," said Spies. "We've got some things to test at Brno and it will be important for the Indy race. Maybe we will not match the Honda, but if we get close, then that is what we can do," he said.

"But two wins is a good motivation for the team and Honda are not invincible. But we still have not bridged this gap," he added.
